Fairbank Spring Trial Results...

I wanted to thank everyone that came out to the spring trial on Saturday even though the weather was anything but springlike. We had to endure a full day of running in bitter cold temperatures but we all managed to have a great time. I wanted to personally thank a few people who without their help and support I would not be able to make this trial happen. First of all my wife takes care of all of the cooking and makes multiple trips back and forth between home and the club to make sure we have hot meals and anything else we need as the day progresses. I also wanted to thank our bird planter Frank Magazinee who planted birds all day and did a fine job as every dog I believe was able to get birds pointed. Finally I have to thank Chris Catanzarite and Al Fazenbaker. Trials in our area would not be possible without the help and support of these two. Not only are they both extremely competitive in our arena but wherever they go so to have the caliber of dogs and their help at Fairbank is a true asset and greatly appreciated. I also wanted to thank our other judges, Brian Ralph, Russ Komlos, and Gary Pritts in addition to Chris also helping with the judging. The results are as follows:

Jan Zarebicki Puppy Classic
1st Cam pm Dye
2nd Pete pm McMillan
3rd Speedie rsm Fazenbaker

1st Roger rsm Fazenbaker

Ohio Red Setter FTC Results....

The Ohio Red Setter Field Trial Club ran their first trial in several years, as we hope to get the trial back on a regular schedule after a hiatus of several years during the economic downturn.  The trial was run at our traditional location at Grand River Wildlife Management Area outside of Bristolville Ohio.  We had a small but very quality entry of 24 dogs run today.

Special thanks to our judges Brandon Kruer and Dave Park for their time in the saddle.   Also a "hats off" to Nick Ciani of Madison Ohio who spent the day on foot planting bird for the Open Derby and Open Shooting.  He walked at least 10 braces today under sometimes muddy conditions to ensure everyone had an opportunity to point birds.  Well done Brandon, Dave, and Nick!

Thanks also to Purina for your support of our Pennsylvania Walking Shooting Dog Association.  Our sport would not be the same without your support and your great dog food.  Please support Purina by purchasing their products.

Finally, thanks to everyone who participated today!  Your support of our trial and of the PWSDA is greatly appreciated and promotes the walking trials in our region.  We hope to see you again!

National Walking Futurity

The 2015 National Walking Futurity will be held beginning Saturday April 18 2015. This year’s venue will be the Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club, located at 358 Windy Point Rd., Harrisville, PA 16038. Directions to the grounds can be found at the following link:

The deadline for registering a dog for the National Walking Futurity is March 25, 2015. Be sure to register your derby by the date noted to avoid a late fee. The nomination forms can be found on the PWSDA website at the following link:

If anyone has questions, feel free to contact Roger McPherson, or one of the Futurity officers.
For those interested, there will be a Walking Shooting Dog stake and a Puppy stake offered during the weekend, dependent upon Futurity entries... Details will be available as the date approaches.

This year we are going to put together a little program booklet to highlight the Futurity. The program will have information about each of the dogs nominated, as well as information on our Futurity, the handlers, and the judges. You won't want to miss this important publication! To help support our Futurity, Teri Propst has graciously volunteered to solicit sponsors for our program. Please consider supporting the Futurity by purchasing a half-page or one page ad in the booklet. This is a great way to support YOUR Futurity and to build a future for this great sport. Give Teri a call or message her on Facebook and she will be happy to place an ad for you! Thanks Teri for your hard work!

THANK YOU PURINA FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE
